Remote consulting  ·  Worldwide

Marine electrical consulting from the Norwegian coast to your boat

Independent, written advice on lithium conversions, Victron systems, charging and marine safety — by email, wherever your boat is and whatever your time zone. No video calls, no meetings: considered answers in writing, built on real installations and genuine search-and-rescue experience in some of the world's toughest waters.

Services · independent advice

What we can do for you remotely

We sell equipment in Norway — but our consulting is independent of what you buy or where you buy it. You get an honest technical answer, not a sales pitch.

Most requested

Lithium conversion review

Planning to swap lead for LiFePO4? We review your design against ISO 13297 and NS-EN ISO 23625 thinking: charging sources, BMS strategy, disconnect behaviour, fusing (Class T), and what happens to your navigation equipment when the BMS trips.

Design

Victron system design & review

MultiPlus, MPPT, Cerbo GX, DVCC, alternator charging with Wakespeed — we design new systems or review the one you have been quoted, component by component.

Data-driven

Troubleshooting via VRM data & photos

Charging faults, mystery battery drain, alarms. With your photos, a wiring sketch and — for Victron systems — temporary read-only VRM access, most electrical faults can be diagnosed from the actual data, without anyone stepping on board or booking a call.

Second opinion

Second opinion on quotes & surveys

Got a quote from a yard or installer that feels off? We read it with independent eyes and tell you what is sound, what is oversized, and what is missing — before you pay.

Safety

Safety equipment & passage review

Lifejackets, liferaft, EPIRB, MOB gear and communication reviewed against your actual crew and route — by people with real search-and-rescue background, not a checklist generator.

Norway-bound

Cruising Norway preparation

Bringing your boat to Norway? Regulations, cold-water safety, charging ashore, VHF licensing and what actually works on this coast — from locals who sail it year round.

How it works · three steps

Everything in writing, nothing scheduled

Email-based consulting means no calendars to align and no calls across time zones. You write when it suits you; we answer with the care a written answer allows.

1

Describe the boat and the question

Email us your boat, system (photos, wiring sketches, VRM screenshots or read-only access) and what you need answered. We reply with a fixed quote for the job — no meter running.

2

We dig into the data

We analyse your material properly — datasheets, VRM history, standards — and come back with follow-up questions by email if anything is unclear. Considered answers, not off-the-cuff talk.

3

Written report you can act on

Findings, recommendation, and a parts/spec list you can hand to any installer or use yourself. Reasonable follow-up questions by email are included.

Payment by card or bank transfer. Consulting is a service delivered from Norway — no shipping, no customs, no borders, no meetings.

Why take advice from Norway?

Because this coast is the test lab. Cold water, long distances, real weather — and a rescue service we know from the inside. Sikkerhet Om Bord AS designs and installs systems that must not fail here. That standard travels well.

Ask us the question that is keeping you ashore

One email with your boat and your problem. We reply with what it costs and what you will get — and if written remote help is not the right tool for your case, we say so.
